In this second series of posts, we will again be talking about some of our most important inspections and analyses related to NDT or non-destructive testing.
Thermographic surveys and analysis
A thermographic scan can evaluate the amount of heat that a mechanical part encounters. It can also serve as a good preventative maintenance procedure to check the thermal conditions of material before a part breaks down. Many hours of downtime and production dollars can be saved using this simple scan.
Laser alignment and optical plane alignment
Laser alignment machines are your answer to precise rotational alignment. Laser alignment uses laser beams and software to precisely align anything from a simple motor pump combination or a complex six-member train assembly quickly and accurately.
When aligning precision systems, lines are created by a laser, measurements are digital and accuracy is increased.
To maintain and calibrate industrial equipment four questions need answered: Is it straight? Is it level/flat? Is it square? Is it plumb?
Laser alignment and optical tooling advancements have radically changed the engineering world and made it more accurate.
3D laser geometic metrology and dimensioning
3D lasers analyze real-world objects and using collected data. A 3D model may then be constructed. Applications for 3D laser metrology and dimensioning include machine alignment, calibration, inspection and reverse engineering.
