Many steel mills utilize specialty DC motors as part of their operation. These motors drive the rolling tables that move red-hot steel slabs through the rolling mills. The rolling mills then reduce the steel slabs to thin finished steel coils, ready to be sold to customers. Depending on the rolling operation, several hundred motors may be in service at any given time. When these motors are sent out for repairs to CMT, they are usually done in multiple numbers.
CMT utilizes the economy of scale philosophy when rebuilding these motors to better than factory new condition. A separate department is set up for the high volume, high repeat motors. Repair efforts and practices utilized are specific to these types of motors. This assures the customer will receive the same quality repair process, every time, every motor.
