Power generation plants are designed to use vast amounts of water in their daily operations. Water is used in the boilers that create steam, which in turn drives the turbines that make electricity. Pumps of all sizes and designs manage the multiple water systems found in a power plant. Some of these water systems include cooling for large equipment, collection and re-distribution of condensed steam and house service use.
CMT’s capabilities are well suited to service the diverse types of pump equipment found in these operations. The pump rotor shown is driven by a 1500 HP motor at a regional power plant. Our Industrial Machine Division is currently restoring it to OEM specifications.
