There are great benefits to re-engineering parts. Sometimes equipment needs to be repaired using OEM parts. When some original renewal parts are obsolete and unavailable, we re-engineer them. This lets a customer extend the life cycle of equipment, instead of sending it to the junkyard.
A re-engineered part is often better than the original because we can improve it and the material it was originally made from and can provide up-to-date features.
CMT reverse engineered a pop-up roller assembly for a tubular steel mill. In one picture you will see the original sample. The other picture is a 3D CAD model of the finished part.
