CMT was recently asked to rebuild a large multi-shaft gearbox assembly for a regional pipe mill.
CMT’s Field Service technicians removed the gearbox from the customer’s site and transported it to the shop for evaluation and rebuild. The gearbox unit was dismantled, cleaned, inspected and then rebuilt using new bearings and other components. Some additional machine work was required to repair wear to several bearing housings.
This gearbox assembly was then returned and installed by CMT’s Field Service team. The shop work and field work was completed by CMT in just 7 days, working around the clock to beat our customer’s outage deadline by 2 days.
