A lifting magnet picks up or lifts metal objects. Most lifting magnets are used in steel mills, scrap yards, loading docks, ship yard and foundries. An industrial lift magnet has magnetic properties in its coil and is usually attached to a crane. The crane moves the magnet above an object and the magnet is energized and the item is picked up. Some lifting magnets can be the size of a queen-sized bed. Some magnet sizes include 47-inch, 57-inch, 67-inch and 68-inch. CMT’s Lifting Magnet Division can design, rewind, manufacture and service industrial lift magnets or separator rolls.
