Businesses around the Mahoning Valley are being asked to secure a table now
for a Kids Career Fair presented by Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, OH WOW !
Science Center and City Machine Technologies, Inc. The event will be held at MCCTC, 7300 N
Palmyra Road in Canfield, on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Children are our future,” says Claudia Kovach, Vice President of City Machine Technologies,
Inc. “One day, they will be applying for jobs in town and wouldn’t it be nice to learn some ended
up in their specific career field because they attended this event and learned about a new line of
work that wasn’t taught at home or at school?”
The Kids Career Fair was developed to showcase the great career opportunities in the area that
many children and even parents might not know about. Registration and information about the
fair can be found on the MCCTC website.
The Kids Career Fair coincides with February’s Career and Technical Schools Month, says
Jessica Cene, Marketing and Job Placement Coordinator for MCCTC. “Exposing students to
different careers at an early age is so critical and that’s why hosting career fairs geared towards
a younger age group is necessary,” Cene said.
Businesses are being asked to provide a fun table activity for children during the event, as well
as pass out giveaways.
Ralf Urbach, Director of Education for OH WOW ! Science Center, says “It’s always better to
see and touch a nut or a bolt than just learn about it from a picture, which is why this event will
be so successful in helping students learn about new careers.”
The Kids Career Fair is free and open to the public.
