Water-cooled motors are designed for high ambient conditions, locations with space constraints and high-density requirements. While water-cooled motor designs vary, the most common is a jacket that has galleys to allow coolant to flow around the core iron to absorb heat. In a high ambient location, the cooling allows the motor to survive as designed. Containment is the leading cause of failure, second to leaks as both decrease flow rates. CMT has the resources to remanufacture all water-cooled designs to manufacturer specifications.
