As brushes wear in a DC motor, carbon dust is distributed throughout the motor. Carbon is a conductor that combines itself with other airborne contaminates and mixes with moisture. Eventually arching or grounds can emerge. This can cause production downtime. CMT can come onsite to repair your motors. We also offer preventative maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.
Motors are thoroughly inspected, cleaned, brushes changed, holders and springs evaluated, insulated integrity is recorded for trending, and all mechanical mountings, couplings and auxiliary equipment is examined.
CMT provides service for rewinding fields, interpoles and compensators, rewinding armatures, commutator service, dynamic balance, shaft manufacturing, housing repair and frame fabricating.
